cvp-adventquietAdult Christian Education opportunities are generally offered seasonally: there is always a course during Advent and during Lent, and frequently another one lasting four to six weeks in the fall. These courses frequently revolve around the study of a certain book or books of the Bible, or particular events in Jesus’ life or ministry. Prior to the bishop’s visit, the course offered is usually a Confirmation class.

In the summer months, or in-between significant study courses, book studies are frequently offered, featuring works by Christian – and often Episcopal – authors.

About twice a year, Prayer Breakfasts or Quiet Mornings are offered on a Saturday. These events begin with a light breakfast in the parish hall, continue with the recitation of Morning Prayer, and then feature a guest clergy person, who will give a talk on a particular topic or a seasonal theme. Past Prayer Breakfast topics have included angels; monastic spirituality; missionary trips; and faithfulness following the Sept. 11 attacks. Occasionally, a member of a religious community is the featured presenter.
