SUMMARY:Journey to the Heart of God | Learning Series
DESCRIPTION:Journey to the Heart of God is a five-week program rooted in prayer\, fellowship\, and learning. Each Thursday we’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall and dive into the heart of God by exploring elements and practices established by Christ in his Church. Sessions stand independently from one another\, and there’s no requirement to commit to all five sessions to attend.  We will begin our time with prayer\, share a meal\, and dwell in the heart of God through scripture and theology. SUMMARY:Acolyte Retreat and Training
DESCRIPTION:Those currently serving\, and those interested in serving\, as acolytes\, subdeacons\, and mass servers are invited to a morning retreat and training. We will begin our time together with a hardy breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Followed by a conversation on our prayer and worship life at Saint John’s. We will go over the ritual practices in our worship life and refresh ourselves on liturgical roles and responsibilities. Please email Trish at the Parish Office by September 26 to RSVP.

SUMMARY:Solemnity of Saint Michael and All Angels
DESCRIPTION:We will observe the feast of Saint Michael and All Angels (Michaelmas) on its proper day\, September 29. According to British folklore\, Michaelmas is the last day of the year to eat blackberries. It is said that when Saint Michael expelled Satan from heaven\, he fell from the skies and landed in a prickly blackberry bush\, cursing the fruit and scorching them with his fiery breath. Join us for worship and in singing glorious hymns at Solemn Mass\, more musical details to follow\, and plan  to stay for a sweet coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall.
